On 29 May 2026, Routes of Piemonte reached an important milestone with its presentation at the First Plenary Assembly of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe active in Italy, held at the Italian Ministry of Culture in Rome.
The Assembly brought together representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Italy, the Council of Europe, certified Cultural Routes, and cultural heritage organisations from across Europe. The event provided a national platform for discussing the future of Cultural Routes, with particular attention to governance, promotion, European funding opportunities, cooperation among routes, and the contribution of Cultural Routes to cultural and territorial development.
During the Assembly, Edoardo Cavagnino presented the Routes of Piemonte Coordination Platform, introducing its vision, mission, and first achievements, including the development of an open coordination network, the mapping of Cultural Routes operating in Piemonte, and the creation of shared opportunities for communication, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. The initiative currently maintains contact with 25 Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe connected to the region, and has already engaged 15 routes in its first regional survey.
The initiative received positive recognition and encouragement from senior representatives of the Cultural Routes community, confirming the relevance of its mission and the value of its collaborative approach. Discussions during the Assembly also opened new opportunities for dialogue and future cooperation at both national and European levels.
